Just testing the new wordpress writer

Just testing the new WordPress.com app on ubuntu, I installed the package on kde but couldnt find the launcher but i took a look at the deb package and located the launcher in /usr/local/WordPress.com and just ran ./WordPress.com which ran the app – Im pretty certain it will show up in the menus on the next login! Nice and easy to use and full of features – plus works and windows and mac as well – Really handy for people with self hosted websites! You can see stats with the jet pack plugin etc. See screen shot running on KDE.  You can download the packages here > https://desktop.wordpress.com/

clef plugin

clefdo you own a blog or looking for a password manager ? take a look at clef, i plugged the clef worpress plugin into my blog as i was sick of people trying to access it, the clef plugin removes password authentication and you just login holding your mobile phone onto your laptop screen which matches a pattern which then you can assign the length of time you will be logged in or hit a log out button which logs all your pages out which is handy if you go for lunch and leave you facebook logged in!

you have to have a plugin on cherome called waltz to make it work on your web browser available here http://getwaltz.com/

clef for android is available here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.clef&hl=enlogon clef

also be available for mac, windows, iphone etc 🙂

scribefire on ubuntu

okay ive had no choice but to swicth to scribefire for blogging on linux ive tried them all

they all work but all the linux programs for blogging you simply cant upload a image direcet from the program

you have to uplaod and link, i tried quamana but it java, ugly and crashed half way through a post!

so i still ask the question why use scribefire? when im im a browser i might aswell use the wp-admin

but at least i get to setp multiple blogs in it which makes life easier i suppose

im just not happy with the lck of good blog editors on ubuntu

blogilo looked perfect but it wouldnt work right maybe because its a KDE app on unity hell knows, shame really

Blogging in kde

147

Ive been blogging for a while now and ive been using kde for a lot longer!
Now sometimes i dont want to open my browser log in and all that messing just to blog so if you use kde take a look at these two bit of software
Blokkal
Here
This comes in two flavours one for kde 3.5.9 users like me and on the edge kde 4 users! its quite a nice little interface and has scheduling options etc and it plugins in and stays active in the taskbar! V HANDY!
My main choice is kblogger not because its better but when you install the deb you right click on your kicker and add as an applet! then just put in your username etc!!
I know there is a deb for kde 3.5.9 version for the newer version i think you have to compile from source which aint that hard!
just – ./configure – make & make install (make sure you have build-essentials installed!!)
anyway check it out here
http://kblogger.pwsp.net/
If your using wordpress use metaweblogapi
and your server link would be
http://serveraddress/blog/xmlrpc.php

Blog away sharing information helps!!! 🙂
