GBN Is Closed. GMN Is Open.

Logo

Im sorry for the few people who were messed around over xmas with URLS. Ive closed GBN as i could not get control of the domains. I need the domain all together professionally not scattered around the globe for reasons of future investments and expanding business. Im afraid this had obstacles and had to move away from the domains and name. I bought new domains – renewed all the licences to the new domain and rebuilt the whole system. The good thing is the whole system only has one bug as it stands after a full rebuild which is getting looked at no rush as it something minor.

The site main features include

  • Social networking
  • Chat
  • Photos
  • Groups
  • Music Uploads
  • Events
  • Vidoes
  • Classifieds
  • Facebook / Twitter Intergration
  • Last.fm / Soundcloud Intergration
  • Mobile Phone Client

Im just re-registering the reviews module and will be integrating today, I’ve never wrote any reviews but will try some this week I have plenty of new musical instruments and gadgets to review plus computer software reviews! So ill give it a damn good go.

Im expecting a iPad client this month and looking at adding some custom fields and upgrading the search system. Im also brainstorming a link sharing system were users can submit there own links that they think may be useful, as i have loads and sometimes forget to book mark them! So think this could be a great feature…. Its all about sharing :)

Getting closer to a google phone blog..

Getting closer to writing a decent blog on the google android linux phone! I like to use it for a good week first to see its real good points and bad points. A few things that spring to mind ..
Major hang up is no on screen virtual keyboard which would be better than flippin the phone open everytime I want to reply to a quick text!
I’ve managed to suss out how to write to my blog through the browser on the google phone ill blog this but it was a real pain!
One big pain in the ass is the charger socket! Try use the keyboard on the phone with it plugged in!! Madness who designed and tested this….
One thing I am happy about is I’ve got a irc client working now and I have root on the phone!! Yes you heard I am root and have busybox installed so I’m at home in the linux box!!!
I have a precompiled sshd and ssh here the ssh works fine but need to make a sshd config for sshd – I have use the deadly telnet service a few times till I configure it.

Google – Where is it going..

399First we get gOS – the google search engine the most popular search engine on the internet – next we get google gadgets for the desktop and igoogle – then we get google desktop and google office!! wow they are really going to town..
Thats not it we then get the new chromium google web browser which currently i a massive bit of kit to download to compile on linux! (450 meg) now we also have gOS the google operating system based on linux with all the google tools built in!! wicked but what ties it all together?
Andoid is the answer – yep the new google phone available next month from T mobile – its features are awsome – now tie that in with all the other tools i just talked about could just toe them into the door for being the leaders of all operating systems – if google puts microoft out of the picture at least we will get all this built on linux boxes so we gain security and stability – my fingers are crossed – its on the cards watch this space – long live google.
