a day in the life of wayne ward….

well its been a bit hectic ive been snowed under since i stopped doing domestic work! and the weather has been shit! im having to get another battery for the range as the cold weather has killed mine
well its been crazy latley with work and with music to be honest ive never had so many rehearsals and gigs madness
Things are going well with blackheart afterglow had some great gigs – yorkshire house was cool and we are quite well booked into the next year now
I played the full weekend this week end which I enjoyed – friday was different played for keith franklin for his birthday – me and dan and johny nash on drums
got really trashed on JD – saturday went to my watering hole the george and watched idol minds for a few songs.
dan rang me to play guitar sunday as his lass was due the baby and he may of had to leave early so i could take over. Wrennie was on aswell and dan had to leave so me and ste took over the gig and it went great!! young jefferorson moore got up and played some cool guitar and his farther geoff played some bass with us – makes it all different and good to watch – peoples comments were nice – people couldnt belive how well we played – took our jodie she really enjoyed it
well rehearsal 2morro night with bhag then another one thursday with my band hecklers which should be cool then out gigging friday
got all my bits together for the new fretless im building – she is called number 2 – no fret lines and natural jazz like number one – i tend to use the fretless always now its a whole lot better for original stuff and kicks asss on the zep / who stuff
although i have been looking at another alembic series one for next year with side LEDS! ive got some big gigs coming of next year so might aswell get my moneys worth out of the bass – ive had a few alembics and they were always sat in the case unless we got a gig which was hardly? so cashed in!
just watched the day john lennon died such a loss to the music business – so much talent – its a great life being a musician and mixing with so many talented people – its funny even before he died he said he loved mccartney even though they didnt talk – they did all that time together shared good times – its been damn great getting back with dan and steve – makes me realise how good we was together pure talent. We have such good memories

got a server to configure this week and a couple of draytek 2820 routers which are cool and some y-cams – all good stuff – have to go and fix another BT router god they are crap lock up like daily ?!
got some new services i will be adding to my business in the new year involving CCTV and business pbx Voip systems which is exciting – so watch this space ..
Got a couple of domestic jobs that have crept through over the past couple of weeks and thats it as from the new year I wont be doing a single one !!!! i cant understand how some of my mates think i can do jobs for free or like a tenner! how can you pay your bills with that!! so my masterplan is going well zero tolerance

Got the Ycams going in my house after i had some robbing twats in my house – they send instant email / text message to mobile and offload footage of site and then i can view on the iphone so next time they will be recorded – scum
we have our 2 xmas trees up and are ready for xmas – ive decided to work through and take xmas day and boxing day off for the jam day this year! rock and roll xmas

before i go id like to say congratulations to my old pal dan and tor on the birth of there new baby girl today at 7pm

i installed 1passwd a while ago to test as i thought if i got the app for my mac id get the password sync with the iphone – well you do but u gotta pay for that ! so i trashed it.. usually thats it removed.
Wrong its got all sorts services running and crap still installed which i didnt realise until i checked my logs because a hardisk wouldnt mount and i had loads of random crap comong up in the log file – so i did a quick google search and got this

the quality of the band is sounding amazing being able to play some of these songs – actually finding the guys who can cut it has been a long time coming…
Im looking at our first gig and we will be on the same bill as blackheart afterglow which is a great original rock / indie band which kick ass!
So this gig will give us the taste and sho people wha they are going to get and the new year will launch the new band
I can hardly wait – great music – great musicians – great people

Had a great night out last night with our new guitarist stuart
Picked him up and we walked over the bridge to the bobbin to watch tshirts for americans – which sounded damn good – nice and tight. The bobbin is back on for metal / rock bands which is cool they are booked up till january already! nice new pool table awell to kick dans asss on! then we took a look to see what was on in the stone well -> nothing -> penny bank -> nothing and ended up in the john o gaunt
they had a cancelation from the section and got some scratch band together doing like blues / rock young lads along with jeff wilki on bass who had been at it all day so he was pissed up!! ha – he was funny as! anyway we got pretty intoxicated watching them and they got me up to play rock and roll by zep on the bass which went down well!! we stayed till they finished and walked back down to the bobbin for the last drink! then caught the last bus home @ 12.30
what a great night its good to get out with other band memebrs for a pint and you couldnt meet a better person than stu he is a cool decent guy

Just wrote another ditty I called it the squeeze – im waiting for the 12 string to arrive before I put the chords over it as ive decided this ones an acoustic tune. Great tune about letting things go and holding onto things that have passed and flogged… its the third song ive wrote in 2 weeks – im loving the writing! I been stuck on a few lyrics for days and someone just said something that sparked what i require ” i fukin love that”
I will get them on sound clound and get them on my blog very soon… watch this space…
well the exclusive news is just around the corner just had another call 2night – so all musicians hold onto your instruments and get ready for whats coming your way – practice your going to need plenty of it to keep up with whats coming your way…… yes its evolving …..

just hit home after another session job – played the fretless at a blues beer fest!
some crazy beer on tap – havent been to barrow for a long long time!
quite suprisingly i took the whole gig out with no mistakes! thats a 1st!
nice couple of sets – lots of light and shade
great vocals / harmonica and some great guitar playing including some great slide playing
locked in with the drummer great time keeper and great dynamics not just noise!
i just used the fretless for the full gig – plenty of of space for the fretless parts
finished of with a lovely meal from the organiser – thai chicken yum

its funny its a small world i got to talking to the vocalist / harp player in the car on the way back great guy from out of town – came round this neck of the woods not so long ago to check out some bands and stumbled across some lads i played with once upon a time.. he left after 2 songs – the summary was bassically

overal great day – in in general happy with the standard i still hold
its great playing with like minded musicians who are delivering enjoyable music with dynamics

Great weekend ! started friday went slightly out of town to meet the drummer ive been looking for … top notch got plenty of experience under his belt couldnt have found a better person – decent person – true musician and on the same level as me which is hard to find! so was just looking for the frontman / guitarist which to be honest there is no rush ive rushed before and you dont get 1st class so we will see the guy ive been talking to has some festival work and his voice sounds spot on! plus i like the guitarist he has sounded pretty to notch …. watch this space i will bring the best band into lancaster as intended ………..
ended up in the park friday night after my meeting with the drummer.. got wasted and got up and played guitar and sang a few tunes – sometimes i just suprise my self when im on form spot on well enjoyed it! dan played well.. then up saturday with a small hang over to set the gear up in a conservitary on a house for a party! started at 3 and rolled on till 9 – nice long gig with some varied music – also had a spot on the acoustic bass were we backed up les the guy who setup the party with a bit of blues and stuff which sounded great! dan went home to put his feet up and i hit lancaster! met my dad in the stonewell tavern to watch citizens band… top notch set golly played well – derek was on form with his mouth harp! got very intoxicated with my old man and took a vindaloo home!
so im sat here feeling quiet tired on a sunday watching some 007!
but im hungry to watch more bands i see golly is playing at the park 2night with a screaming lord sutch tribute vocalist and my friends revolver are hitting ma murpheys! so might just have a few out in town
then back to work this week as my partner fred is coming soon from america so need plenty of pennies for our outing to liverpool and london… good times ahead..
got the range rover ready just put some new tyres on which cost a small fortune but hey its a range what do you expect – keep riding high
plenty of websites on this week and repairs business is good.

well lets hope this band gets moving this week although there are some points which must not be overlooked .. no bad timing and bad fills – fresh material – and most certainly no vocals in unison now that would be real crap ?! ha…

wardism is cool – i love you all

feeling a tad ill today bit odd im usually pretty cool
but i got up and got fired just try and keep things moving
just finished a site and start a new one in the morning
thinkin of goin to see my bezzi m8 2morro and get away from here for a hour or so!
just so damn busy to find time to do anything nowadays.
Relly got to be careful who i write to now and talk to as i can see people still want trouble with me which is damn shame cause i just forgot all about it and them – but hey ho im all good and all is fine i have no issues. watched some bloody good films tonight – taken was great watch it gripping right till the end and the usual happy ending…
although i have to say eden lake was bloody disturbing and quiet a horrible ending !! left me with no nails!! go on watch it…. i have to say bloody gripping.
Getting great compliments for the work for lancaster computers and jake is doing very well ive promised to take him to see muse in manchester if he keeps om learning – very very proud.
On the music side im now just looking for two members for the band – i need a vocalist and a keyboard player if possible … if you can do any of these please feel free to drop me a email on blog@wayneward.co.uk with your current and previous bands and experince etc…
Yes my new project will be unleashed soon i just have to be patiente and find the best guys for the job…………..
