had a late night again coding last night with my partner in the states, its hard work but also great because we can talk about the thing that are different with our countries!! I find it odd when they are ready for T time and im getting ready for hitting the sack!! its a long day my hours are from 10am till 6pm and then I started again at 8pm and coded right through till 5am!!!! then i have to wind down so get to bed for 6am – then im up again for 11.30 now that might sound lazy to you but im afraid thats the rest the old brain requires!! i cant imagine having a manual job and getting my hands dirty now but hey i don’t need to its my skill!! and im happy sat on my arse working its the way forward!!!! ive just had my dad round for a few cups of coffee and a chat which is a good break and i find myself so lucky to have such a great farther he is someone who you can trust and he is such a great person. Get back to some more coding but im still feeling a bit head taxed which is hard to understand until you actually do it. Im going to get a hour on the fretless today work on the track for the studio a bit more ive sussed a nice fill im going to touch the song with and Its inspired me to play some great slap routine which i can use as great practice routine that triplets and all thumb and can have a nice pop in it when required to break it up – 2morro the status is coming out and thats going to get a couple of hours as im going to be playing a song on it that needs touching up.
Im going to take a look at the stratocaster and just sort the action a touch i like the action low but i was trying to pull out some overbends again the other night and they were choking just on the edge maybe im overbending to much or maybe ive got the action to low ? something ill figure out… i cant moan about the strat certainly kicks the ass out of a lot of guitars ive heard its crystal clear through this little george dennis very open and musical tone is quite desirable and all 5 positions – i think they did me a favour with the new pickup and wiring (grease bucket) configuration, it like to think of it as a old strat which is cool with a upgrade -> hot rod 
LIFE:
Ive been having a think about recent happenings and sometimes things happen for the best im doing real well in business in mind in family in music – I have made losses in friends and maybe family which is sad but life must go on and unfortunately i have to say what i think and if its here in my personal space then thats my view its a shame people have to look into this if its not there business but people do thats people for you. I wont be expressing myself about the band anymore ive cut my ties ive learnt a big lesson from this and like i say had some fall outs. On the other hand im only moving forward. The new project which im working on will go were im hoping and i cant see me hanging around when it does go were I presume. So hopefully one of my wishes is to leave this sad old town behind if that happens ill be the happiest man walking.
Until then i will not bothering with anyone like they say keep my self to myself – who can you trust round here? let me tell you now -> nobody. So now it me my family my business my project my music happy days. Its quite funny but quite expected to get a phone call from one of my ex mates saying he is going to punch my head in for saying he isn’t a musician and say it to his face i would do that and i have said that but the funny thing some people just aint intelligent enough to argue or have a discussion they have to make threats all i can say to this is grow up and just be careful if this happens you will have to pay the consequences I have made the warning.
Im moving on and wish no ties or contact with the people in question if you dont like what you read dont read my personal site maybe go and do some work or spend time with your families, ive been witing this blog for years and write openly what i think this will continue until i go in the ground so im afraid you will have to simply accept this is what i do. i work with computers all day every day so yes i get time to blog.

my new project launches this week and im expecting the best so watch this space….
i need to get two hours practice in today – ive set out one hour a day fretless one hour fretted and one hour on the guitar back to scales and getting some vocal practice in. Keeping this back to a strict routine like I used to have. Some of the complex parts I used to be able to play im just been playing around with them and this is going to take 6 months to get back up to speed….
Its a hard task but its all worth it. The new status needs some daylite im going to get the trace elliot setup this week and get my head into 5 string mode.
It seems crazy at this time of my playing to go back to the drawing board and pick out a bunch of scales to work at ! but my hunger is back – im looking round for any session work in around and in any style rock – country – jazz thats one of my good points ive done some major busking and i need to get back into stepping in for bands and doing festivals again! Im looking at getting another amp which i can carry round for the sessions maybe a mark bass rig or ashdown im going to try some combos this week….
im quite happy with the speed and accuracy ive got to already playing triples slapped on the jaydee ive been playing along to some great parts which are very tightly timed not to many notes but very accurately timed and nice to latch along too…
i need to restring the fretless this week as the string i just loaded it with dont feel right and dont sound right – im going to go to some some stainless steel which yes rip the fretboard up but thats how i can get the jaco pastorius sound i like to emulate – get back on the back pick up and funk this shit out i am working on a part on the fretless called 33.1 which im putting down in the studio next week – its a perfect song for the fretless some nice space to get in some fretless parts and ive spent a good part of my fretless practice this week on this song so its going to be amazing its funny I talked to my best mate simon the other day he is one of the finest bass players around and slap I cant touch him but he is the sam as me has some great basses and a jaydee but he always has a fretless by his side – we talked about it the other day and he shares my thoughts that the fretless has so much more ways to express yourself its a lovely instrument and i do feel sorry for the guys who pick up the fretless and put it down because its to complicated for them – again you get what you put in it took me over a year to get my head round the tequenique and now i can say i have no fears with the fretless and can play and slap it with ease it just offers a lot that you cant scrape out of a fretted – so any budding bass players scared of the fretless get some time and listen to some of the great fretless players it well worth putting in the time….
Other things …
Great gig last night ive never seen so many people in one place!!! bloody hot pot was amazing!! the irish dancers were superb and we went down a storm which is great – thanks for the compliments! i sang pinball wizard without a struggle whatsoever! which i was good as ive never sang it let a lone practiced it before!!! Good to see some of my old mates – ste morton – melly – tony jackson (little pisshead!) some great dancers!!!!! finished up in queens with keith for last jar before sloping of for a taxi as i was a bit bog eyed! Looking forward now to the gigs i have lined up with my dad now so we are practicing this week not that we need that much just work out who is doing which harmony but a lot of people say im so fortunate to have a farther son duo. One of the gigs we have coming up im so looking forward to as we have loads of like minded musicians invited so thats going to be interesting!! I invited mr bamber who is probably one of the greatest drummers ive had the fortune to play with but he isnt well so I hope him all the best to get well soon he is one person I love grooving some music out with what a talented guy.

Im getting ready for the studio session i have coming up and putting down some fretless – hell my level of playing is getting better every day my slap playing is coming on leaps and bounds
so ready for tonights gig the old wayne is back the musician has been unleashed again
im glad to say im finally getting back on form again and all is good with the playing im surrounded by basses in bits as they have been a bit neglected im afraid to say, at one time i was progressing and i have to say although i dont blame natural thing i havent learnt or progressed since i joined them infact ive become a worse player than i was ever before! I couldnt sleep last night as I remember one of the natural thing saying to me -> wayne your good but not that good.
Now i analysed this last night this was a person for one who is not on my level of playing and never will be – someone who lacks natural talent – someone who doenst rehearse and i can carry on but you get the picture and i actually did listen at the time and thought maybe i wasnt that good?
The fact of the matter is Ive wasted 15 years playing like a amateur so ive decided to get back to my 2/3 hour rehearsing times and take my level back from semi pro – > pro again!
I was pissed off about the split of natural thing and the snakey bastards getting someone else in and re-grouping but now when ive looked at the big picture im happy as larry for one they are limited and going nowhere and for another i created the band and it didnt end up how i wanted it to be in the end it ended up just being a old covers band who played the same old shit for 15 years because they were limited and to lazy to rehearse or learn anything else. Like i said I wish them the worst of luck only because the way ive been treat. So now ive advertised to create this new band – this band will be at a level that i should have been in the 1st place I wanted current complex hard to touch music and ended up playing crap ya grandad was playing on the pier! ill move forward and i accept the rest i leave behind and they move backwards
amateurs.
i had a slight thought today of giving the band i created and have been in for over ten years a second chance – i had left mainly due to having the piss taken out of me for ten years and other reasons including sex drugs and rock and roll – anyway its not that the band is good because to be honest its fukin useless ! ive just become used to it i created the band and it never turned out what i wanted and its been like pulling teeth for fuking years – yes i made them have a following – yes i showed them the ropes – yes i ran around sorting gigs and gear and the band for years what a fucking mug. I left a few weeks ago from my own band because of dis-respect and i thought id sort it out today after having a pretty shallow conversation with my honourable cousin :-O
i rang the shit hot drummer!.. ba and he couldnt answer the phone to me – what a man ey! couldnt even ring me back shallow as fuk, any way he says arr to late we got some one! ha ha ha
well he done me a favour because natural thing is nothing but a pile of shit
they cant play certain songs because they are not able to because they are amateurs basically..
we played the who because thats all we could play what a load of old shit something to be proud of playing old 60’s shit – paul weller ? ha ha weller should have been shot when he split the jam – ive been to see him play live and he is shit – his songs after the jam are shit aswell so when they carry on playing that old shit thats only because thats all they can play simple as trying to look cool play shit ya granny can what a fukin joke.
any how im glad now because now i get to play with some decent musicians sick of the same old bullshit licks – going to rehearsals with nothing to rehearse stood there like eeerr what we doing then? thick as fuck.
In a band were no one wants to help each other and a band who back stabs each other and a band were who knows who has fuked your bird? fuk that.
It was all good all the big gigs getting wired up to fuk and not being able to play we all were at it.
Anyhow its all gone now again i helped a people along who really dont deserve my time of day
all i can say is good luck with your new venture because you need it IN A BIG BIG FUCKIN WAY.
its been a while since i last blogged ive been so busy working on a massive project which i will leak in short time im giving no clues and no information but its going to be be special.
works busy and im slowly but surely cherry picking the decent customers I get kinda sick of people who ring and ring and ring and its obvious i cant answer because im on a job or either in a meeting! bloody cheeky! i also hate people asking for my home phone number because they cant get me on my mobile? what so they can harass me on my home phone yes thats clever? and also so bloody cheeky they are the people Im striking off so be careful not to overstep the mark, im a good person but if you take advantage of my good nature i will strike you off with out a thought.
the site stats are all up again for the people who have been fortunate to get a site and optimisation so its al good.
On the music side..
the fretless is back together and now loaded with the EMG’s i just love this bass its amazing – the new status 5 string hasnt had a look in yet I need to get this hooked up and fall into it very soon.
Ive got some 30’s of my bezi mate simon for xmas and im going to load the jaydee up with these like it should be – its been a while its had 40’s on it for ages and i havent used 30’s for about two years – so its great to get back in slap mode !!!
Im going back into the studio to work on the promethium stuff as the b string on one of the bass parts didnt cut it and im making one of the fretted bass parts a fretless parts which i know will be perfect and im looking forward to this as its the first time i got the fretless down in the studio!!
I must say its been an eventful 3 months ive worked hard – dropped a lot of people who really just aint worth the time of day and im buckling down and getting on with my life. If your reading please take the time to understand what im saying i take no hostages im to darn busy. This year im leaving everybody behind im going that little number this year – ive worked so hard for others and lined there pockets now its my turn to hit the big one – so watch this space and learn

What a mad day! got plenty of website work and for the first time ever working with people ive started a site for my mate paul waterhouse and he has just give me the information required no messing its like a gift from god – most people want a site dont help or give you information or mess you about which has made me put in place a document which states what they are getting before i start now! apart from this one with paul he is a gem check the site so far after a week its looking good now just need to optimise and get him to number one in google!! www.pw-cleaning.co.uk
I have a guy coming in the morning for a quick training session on the site and just need to add the last few bits of text which has been a nice little job! he wants to know why its not in google!? so i have to explain about the optimisation part which costs extra so hopefully another optimisation job in tomorrow.
Had a look at our michelles ipod which wasnt loading the apps and some movies werent playing so i just ran the updates in the app store which there was ten of and it was fixed! nice.
Ive fixed my ebay account and started auctions on my macbook – bass guitar and a laptop of a clients I can get this new bass payed for!! plus im going to advertise my old dining room table set 2morro and i have loads of cd’s and clothes to get on this week!!! $$$$
Just put two and two together and realised people getting involved in stuff they shouldnt really need to get a life – im not getting involved in peoples shit on facebook again you cant even trust your own family let alone half of the knob heads on it! So now the relationship we have must suffer because they have to get involved in things that is totally totally none of there business but they decide they have to stick there nose in ?!!!
Oh well good times – things are looking good for the new year – business is good starting to realise who I can trust im my so called family and its getting pretty frickin slim! but hey ho im happy as larry just getting on with my life all i can say is I love our lass my kids – my mum and dad – they are most important. This year i will be concentrating on them and myself. No more favours no more freebies. I got business and my bass playing and promethium to focus on. I have some other businesses up my sleeve which are fat so watch this space.

good weekend started friday at the carlton with promethium and a mix band of steve promethiums old singer – max and dave ex dime store and ben from the ashes. quality turn out – great acts – promethium played well.
Saturday did a party for joe and cass up at grahams house with dan – plenty of beer and cocktails and even fish and chips in a cone!!! wicked night another great turn out!!
Finished up the weekend with a promethium band meeting which was very productive
need to get some serious rehearsing in this week on the basses – its all good
On the other hand ive had news natural thing the band i created 15 years ago is no longer going to be playing – its been a long old gig and had some happy times. We have said this before and got back together but im afraid there is no going back ive so many projects I want to put my time into this year I just cant see the point as i need to move on to higher goals – although i wish all the lads all the best.
Need to get my head down over the next few weeks to buy the new bass – this will give me a new lease of life on the old 5 string department. When i get the studio work out of the way over the next few months im getting the trace elliot in for a repair and im going to bring the trace elliot 18×10 cab in bi-amp mode to blend with the new 5 string so i get that big fat bottom end which i desire……
Well its been a while …
Ive been doing quite a lot of personal blogging in the new journal software I got called macjournal
I found most of the stuff I write about is people i know and them being assssholes! and I didnt really want to make it public!! ha ha… Im going to try and spilt my journals up so I at least get some interesting posts up daily. Ive also split my personal blog with the linux meeting minutes and added the linux minutes to the lancaster linux user group website. Its been hectic over xmas with gigs It all started last week i did my first gig on my own as jimmy usually does it with me as a duo which was pretty darn good I have to admit i liked to hear my guitar but having that second person does bring it along! then the night after i did a gig in carnforth with a old mate and had a great night! I then did the bobstock on the monday with natural thing for macmillan charity best day ive had in ages it was quite nice to see some other bands and realise we aint that good nowadays! but im thinking 15 years is enough time for the band now…..
The night went out with a bang with local band from the ashses – some damn good shit. Shamone.
The next gig was with jimmy at the bowerham which was a stormer apart from i noticed the lights werent switched on half way through the first set so i switched them on only to trip the power :-O
then some drunken prat decided he would try and pickup the guitars and after being told over the mic he proceeded to try and get back on the stage and then stood on the table! knob. He decided to growl at me which was funny as he would have been growling through his wired up jaw if he carried on as the strat was ready to connect to his head. nice
Anyhow the next and last gig was at the yorkshire house with promethium we was supporting d.a.m.
We got to the gig for five but couldnt get into the six to get the gear in so i decided to drink 2 / 3 hoegarden lagers which was fun then proceeded down to ali babas for a cheese burger with noooo mayo (thats another story..) got back and sound checked – sounded shit hot!
Got back home got changed and got the video camera as we was getting this gig on multiple video cameras! went on about 9.15 to about 40 punters and went down amazing!! I was slightly put of the gig for reasons i dont want to get into but it was still 100%
It was a shame for d.a.m – as the punters that came to watch were our following and dispearced when we finished so i stayed and give the lads some support!!
We dropped craig of who was being a pissed pain in the asss and promethium went back to dans to watch the video and drink some wine!! I rolled in around 4 – I cant wait till the next time we play – im going to watch rossi isnt in sweat wiping range haha!
The next gig is new years eve at the moorlands should be a stormer!!!

Has been a chill plenty of films and books plus my dad has been round a lot. Fiona got me a burl watch box which im loading with new watches and also got me a pool table which me and dan have made plenty of use of!!
Sad loss to the year was a good friend great friend and drummer for years – R.I.P
Been talking to richard stallman for the past couple of weeks which has been pretty interesting he is the creator and maintainer of the GNU – kind of nice being in touch and talking to someone who has so much status in the open source community – I have a lot of respect for him and some of the things he stands for.
As for work and computers im starting to look more at getting websites and SEO in the new year and im going to run a local campaign to get some more web based work. Computers are a nightmare no ill refrain that computers are great its just the users who get there hands on them – they are basicaly undereducated idiots and are being issued with a tool that is far to powerful for them… and most of them when they break it wreckon they never did anything and its the person that sold them its fault its just a big joke!!
