macbook RIP

I put my mac into sleep mode then left the plug out for a few days and
now its dead :(

Called apple care sounds like a logicboard fault – so a new one is on the cards :(
And we just had our 13″ macbook stolen hen we got robbed little twats!

linux

xmas tux

So ive built myself a linux laptop using ubuntu :)
Works damn great ! setup no problems ive got access to my contacts and calendars using thunderbird and all its great plugins!! ive got my bookmarks as I use xmarks to sync them! and ive got access to my evernote notes using a application called nevernotes.. seems to work fine
Ive had to mount my music/movie/photo shares using upnp and xmbc client which works great :)
Im just writing this blog on lekhonee which is a nice wordpress editor :)
LINUX KICKS ASSSSS

Was fairly ratted yesterday went to the wagon and horses in lancaster @ ellisons work do and then wandered off into morecambe to watch a soul band in the cheiftan – not bad at all! Got a few bits to get for my close family today and im set for xmas :) – im a bit disapointed with this year and feel let down by mainly one person who has caused so much trouble and split ythe family I hope this person is ashambed of itself as if you are readsing this you know who you are you disgust me with your interfearing habits but its bred into you and you know you are known for it so have a nice xmas…..
Im looking forward to the new year lots of new projects on the horizon – ive had to stop all domestic work as its simply a waste of time and its hard telling people i cant fix there computers anymore but ive let a few slip through and they are more hassle than anything so im defo not doing anymore! 100% – Im sticking with websites and commercial business only – and one of my new projects which i will start to reveal more on here in the new year…. had to knock all favours on the head and had to stop administering any sites ive been running there just aint no point putting in all the time I have time is money and if projects dont kick in within a year screw it – next year is for me and my family fuck everyone else simple as.

Bands are going well im now in two bands one doing covers and one doing original stuff which is great as im writing some great parts on the fretless and they always have new songs and plenty to do instead of stood round like a bunch of amateurs scratching heads saying what shall we do then! ppphhhffff!
Ive just stripped another bass body this ones going to be a jazz fretless and this one is unlined :) my number one is lined and I use this nearly all the time now – although a alembic is on the cards for the new year…… aswell as a new rig – yes i use a proffesional trace elliot not a little shitty practice amp! but im looking portable like a mark bass 2×10 combo which does like 500watt – ive tried a fre ashdowns and they suck dogs assssss.
Been having some good jam days with dan / gary / wrennie frank on a sunday – we have boxing day lined up which will be interesting !! i play bass and guitar which i enjoy!
Im going to get a film lined up for tonight on the apple TV for tonight and order a curry and have a few beers – looking forward to tomorrow nice easy day got my dad and andrew coming over so should be interesting :)

im popping to promenade music for a few last minute bits – you have a merry xmas you hear

good gig last night

good gig last night ! at the old smokey conners
played upstairs for works do with dan – i like playing rhythm / lead funny how some people are just crap and just think rhythm guitar is just strumming you can do so much with rhythm guitar (if your a natural that is)
got finished up and got a taxi through to lancaster to meet fiona on her work do
its been a while since ive been into lancaster as I dont want trouble from some people
but i thought sod it let them start and show themselves up
Bloody good night went to bentleys and ended up in lounge
although I have to say the bar staff in lounge rip you off if you pay for a double they put singles in
so beware – I personally dont like the place and will not return after they try to rip me off.
Suppose im just used to the good service in my local the george pity there wasnt any other decent watering holes in the area with bands…

just doing my last day of domestic repairs as most of the people in this town either have no money or will harass you as they so desperately need the computer back ! its quiet funny i was going to keep doing some for friends but to be honest ive just tried a few tricks out … ill basically go do a job for a mate for free and then ask them to do me a job for free and it doesn’t seem to work ! mad isnt it they dont want to return the favour – im out of favours – so basically no more mr nice guy – im zero tolerance now I will not be used for a mug by nobody – I no longer do computers for friends or family. Apart from that commercial work is going great – plenty of commercial work and websites.

just got back from marbella – had a smashing time – met some great people – looking forward to going back very soon…

Band stuff is going well black heart afterglow has plenty of gigs for the new year and hecklers is trying a new vocalist this week to kick some asss in the new year :)

Got all my bits together for the unlined fretless – this ones called number two and number one is a lined fretless – im going to strip her over the xmas holiday – looking forward to trying my hand at the unlined now my lined technique is spot on and have some great compliments regarding my playing and sound when i use number one. But lets face who can touch me round here? gary this and simon willan are the only people i know who are shit hot !!
calling all bass players….

good rehearsal tonight

great rehearsal with hecklers 2night!
next monday we audition vocalists again fingers crossed!
just got pictues from the photo shoot the other night with black heart afterglow – well happy with the results -> 70′s retro cameras kick ass ;) – global band network is getting lots of new members
2011 is the year trust me – i just hope it works – its a great resource for muscians and black heart afterglow ;)

November 13th, 2010

hey!

yer its been a while – check my new hendrix picture i created! <- over there ;)
dont you just love it – ive decided to turn my back room / office into a rock and roll shrine!
Ive ordered some prints for my unique beatles picture…
Well again ive been buy as ive now knocked all the domestic work on the head for reasons such as
Bringing the computer back a year later and saying i never did it right! scratty trouble makers saying I sold em a pile of shit when they know it wasnt and people like asking you to go do a job I dont so they come to my house and offer me a fiver ppphhff you get the picture
so now im 100% commercial – networks – websites – VPN’s – optimisation and work only for businesses – plus my new policy I will work for any company the ones that pay straight away get my fast track service others well they just have to wait im afraid I cant be assed chasing cash.
So yes its going great infact im better of since I did this just ashame for the decent people who appreciate me and pay well.

Global band network is going to get pushed this year Ive put so many hours into coding the site now I need to populate it – ive give it a overall and its functionality is great now I also plugged a iPhone app into the site which works well. Musician search and soon im adding the shop :)

Gigs going well – did my first gig last night at the uni with black heart afterglow which was pretty good apart from the sound enginners were dunb as per usual and got feedback and generally didnt have a clue as per usual! the ashdown amp i used was a pile of shit I only use pro style trace elliot rack systems anything else is shit and designed for amateurs ! well we played well set was spot on – got some good feedback – looking forward to playing yorkshire house as he is a good engineer and not a bad rig. Got pissed on 6 beer tokens and had great phone when we did the photo shoot looking forward to the pics coming back – some metal band was on which werent bad shit singer like but good band – convulsions were on last and the guitarist started being a prick with me as he said I was at there gig and was giving him shit but i put him right as the silly cunt got me up to play zep rock and roll on bass – prick.
The hecklers are currently looking for a vocalist although rehearsals are going very well have a poke round my sound cloud to hear how the 1st and 2nd rehearsals here

“Its by far the best band i played in – pure talent.”

Just finished another site this time for suzanne jackson – nice jewellery site with shopping cart – take look here

Global band network UK Meeting

well what a week – me fiona my partner fred and his wife wendy have had a ball!
it all started wednesday morning were we picked fred and wendy up from the airport – we got stuck in congested traffic so they had a extra hour on the airport! what a shame any way we picked them up and just had a great tme straight away – instead of hitting the congestion we hit manchester -> straight to johny roadhouse! awsome place if your a musician get yourself to this place you will love it – they are so helpful! play what you like and lots of little bits and bats that you dont usually see in music shops we loved it! had a quick american coffee and hit the motorway back to lancaster.. were fred and wendy needed some sleep after there long trip! we popped into morecambe to show fred and wendy the promenade and the view of the bay at night – and we picked up some pear cider and we grabbed a scallop each from the chippie!!! procceded back to ward mantions and ordered a chineese banquet from max’s! lovely food – we had a damn good yarn and retired early as we had a lot on over the next few days! we got up round ten ad hit lancaster straight away – we hit the museum which i havent visted for a few years and procceded into lancaster market to see if we could get fred a cuban cigar but they couldnt accomadate unfortunatly – grabbed the usual pack of fifteen crab sticks and stuffed my face! popped into HMV for fred to pick up some souvenirs. We then hit bashful alley for american coffees and iced coffees. We walked up to the castle and paid a fiver a piece to do the full tour of the castle which was great! we have never done this before and would recommend this to anybody who hasnt done it the history of the castle is amazing and after this day it made me realise what we have under our nose in our little historic city! we then walked sown to the stonewell tavern to sample a beer and catch some jazz which was great! then decided to catch lancaster park and get some pictures around the monument which was great aswell – got some great snaps! then we decided to hit my local watering hole to sample a beer the george hotel and out tummies started rumbling so we got back to our place to order a moguls banquet but its still under refurb so went for a castle balti which wasnt bad although not as good as mohuls. Again a good few beers some great laughs and bed ready for the next morning….
friday early rise as we was heading to liverpool ! we had to drop of the dogs and pay a quick visit to promenade music to introduce all my good friends in the music shop to my partner fred – fred tried a few basses and a TC amp and we hit the motorway to liverpool – we arrived after lunch at the snooze in liverpool and fred and wendy went for a snooze so me and fiona went for a quick few beers! we then went back to meet fred and wendy and got a taxi to liverpool town and again went for chineese banquet – like £7 each and you can pick what you like and ice cream for afters! then we hit the cavern and sang some beatles songs.. it was so busy with it being john lennons 70th birthday. We then proceeded to the taxi to take us to the philomonic hall to watch level 42 live for there 30th anniversary – which was amazing – quiet a shock for mark king to drop ashdown and take on TC electronic for the tour… he used status basses which sounded awsome – he had his brother on guitar and mike lindup on the keys – sax player and some amazing drummer – the show was amazing to the extent it made fred get teary seeing his best band in liverpool was all to much!!!! anyhow we hit liverpool for beers and got back for sleep ready for the morning!…
up for continental breakfast and hit the motorway straight down the m1 for london!!!! anyway got into london for lunch and got parked up and got into the crown plaza hotel – probably one of the finest hotels in london and got a lye down for a hour and then we got straight onto the palace – we then came back for a beer or two and had a indian meal in the place connected to the crown plaza hotel – the food was very unique – very tasty – very expensive – I loved it all – back into the crown we had a few more beers and fred got a tad drunk on gins :) good boy :)
went for some traditional breakfast the next mornong which was A1 – then fred and wendy went on a tour and me and fiona moved hotel to lambeth so we could get closer to the tower bridge and get some parking for the next day.
This is when we start the tour of london as taught by my farther.

We started on the tube and looked around the tower of london and moved on to the tower bridge. Then moved onto the bass centre and then stopped in a old traditional pub for a beer and then moved back to the tube back to downing street and then on to traffager square. We then moved onto the changing of the guard and green park and back to buckingham palace. We went back onto to meet fred and wendy and went down to the albert pub for a great traditional meal and some beers! We spent our last hour together in the crown plaza were we had beers and said our good byes. We went back through the town by cab which was great seein the tower bridge and and the london eye at night its amazing! Back to the hotel and had a late drink fiona likes a baileys and I went on the jack daniels!
We was up nice and early and showered up and walked across the road straight to the imperial war museum which is free and great inside. Then we paid our last visit to the bass gallery were i seen some alembics / wal / some half decent fenders.
Hit the motorway and im just loooking through the amazing pictues now.
I must say this is the best time ive had in a long time and have to say a big thanks to my partner fred and wendy for such a great time and for being so much fun and great friends. We are looking forward to visit them this next year and for them to return to our house – they are always welcome its so good to meet such good people. To the future and good times ahead.

great weekend

it all started friday – got a message asking me if i could do les’s birthday at the nellie so me and dan had a stormer there was another act on 1st so we didnt hit the stage till about 11 !! plenty of ska and some hendrix – went down a storm – didnt do i saw her standing there or like dumb asses call it just 17 becuase i dont do that anymore that so like ten years ago – get ya timing right before you slag others! ha oh im 38.
so yer had a top one seen loads of good friends out had some hot pot yum yum our gary was out and our james had a good few beers and we was the last ones out!
had a night of saturday night our scott come over and lind and cheree what a lovely little lass she is funny! we ordered pizza and had the crack – what a good lad our scott his nice to have decent family around me couldnt have asked for a better nephew. Anyway sunday listen to a bit of beat club before i went out great 60′s program with small faces – the bee gees and go go dancers simply amazing times in the sixties would have been nice to share this time.
anyway got to the park for around two and took the fretless and the octave pedal of course as they go cap in hand! knocked some pino parts out on my warm up which frank the drummer liked bit of slap with some octave on the fretless does sound great! played a good few sets did some blues and rock and roll – we play all genres thats why were better than the rest! me and dan had a good chat last night and we know thats why we have the edge on “the others” great being a real muso.
Golly hit the stage with derek on vocals sounded bloody great and then dougie mckinnell hit the stage and sang with citizens band which was damn good. Our gaz and james came to see us which was great! Also good to see john ellison and alan crookal – what a good laugh! I hope bob luptons ok as he came in with a patch on his eye which didnt look good… john jeffries spot was a nice contrast plenty of acoustic guitar!! Then we headed down to the ma murpheys as loads of good bands were on during the day – good to catch up with all my decent like minded musician mates :) bloody great night – dan treat me to a burger and i went home :)
So great weekend apart from reading what the little trolls have been writing so Ive removed any connected with that lot from my facebook which was hard because its hard to pick out the bad people from the good – so im afraid ive had to remove decent people which i have doubts about… we will see im not that arsed about having a facebook account really.
Start a new job this week after being head hunted again for my multi platform talents which is good – see how we get on…
looking forward to rehearsal 2morro night its great working with the new setup – learning songs properly is good and not having to blag it and play it all wrong is a bonus – the songs are awsome – just keep watching this space for exclusive news ………..
