I reinstalled my Asus EeePC 701 this morning with Ubuntu 8.10 “Intrepid” final release. To my surprise the wireless no longer worked whereas it did in previous releases (beta, etc). Jumping into IRC I was able to find a fix however, and here it is. Installing Backported Kernel ModulesYou’ll need to install a backported kernel module package. In order to do this you’ll also need to activate the backports repository. You can do that in two ways. Navigate to System > Admin > Software Sources :: Updates :: (intrepid-backports) Add “deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu intrepid-backports main restricted universe multiverse“ After you’ve done either of the above you can then run these commands to install the package: sudo aptitude update sudo aptitude install linux-backports-modules-intrepid echo “blacklist ath_pci” | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist At this point you should be able to reboot and you’re done

Ive been that busy havent been able to blog!!
Ive just bought a new shop in morecambe and im doing a full refurb – when its finished it will be a computer shop! yes my knowledge is hitting the public and its about time – if you only knew the prices people are paying in this area and the information and support they get fed id absolute crap! I got some stories that wold make you say WTF!
Linux news:
Well ive got ubuntu running on the PS3 now (dual booting!) and ive figured out the bugs i had – wireless and screen resolution so its now running 100%
Ive been working on a CRM for the business and been testing vtiger and sugarcrm – well i wont go into this to much but sugarcrm wins, it doesnt fully do whats required as im waiting for a patch for the google calender connector apart from that cool, vtiger mmmmm made a complete mess of my data – it has some nice functionality but it ruined my whole address book! 400 contacts to tidy up? bye bye
ill be blogging a lot soon, im looking at 2 months to my new computer shop is running then i can find more time for myself. Its been a hard few months and ive started to realise who my real mates are and who are the cling on mates i never should have befriended in the first place – i also learned keep your business to yourself thats why you are getting half the story!!!! it such a shame about these people but im glad they have taught me a lesson as im such a good hearted person and would do anything for anyone but its took me till this time in my life to realise really – so thankyou to trolls and green eyed people you fuel me
Apart from that sorry about the speeling and thank you to all my REAL m8′s who support me and i can trust i can count you on my right hand.

Just updated all my customer websites and blog with Fantastico – it works great upgrades to the lastest version no problems in around 10 seconds for each site!!! wordpress upgrade smooth on a joomla it removes my keywords and descriptions tags so just back them up and copy and paste them back into the the admin back end beats the hell out of a wget and untar etc!!! god im gettin lazy

Ive created a facebook jaydee group – i noticed there was an alembic one and jaydee basses are much more famous in the UK and being a prowd owner i created the group!!
